About us

Who we are

PAL was created by a team of business process practitioners based in Canberra, Australia. For years we have delivered process improvement for organisations of every shape, from large enterprise and government to small teams finding their feet.

That work gave us a front-row seat to a problem the whole industry has quietly accepted: process knowledge lives in documents, and documents do not run organisations. Maps get drawn, insights get delivered, and then the real work of execution is left to memory, goodwill and the person who happens to know how things are done.

We knew the value of that knowledge because we spent our careers uncovering it. What was missing was not better analysis. It was a way to make the knowledge operational, so it shows up in the work itself rather than sitting beside it.

That is why we built PAL: a platform that takes process knowledge off the page and puts it to work, so the insight you invest in becomes the way your organisation actually runs.

Why PAL

At the core of everything we do, as individuals and as collectives, is process.

Process is the internal roadmap that tells us the thing we are doing is right. Picking the kids up from school sounds simple, but it draws on time awareness, location knowledge, driving experience and a social network, all working together without a second thought.

In an organisation, process is what keeps a team, a community and an enterprise moving in the right direction. It is how knowledge is passed down, improved on, and checked against the standards that matter.

But that only works while the knowledge keeps moving. When it stalls, when it sits with one person, or in a page nobody opens, the organisation slowly forgets how it works. People leave, things change, and the gap between how work is described and how work is done grows wider every year.

PAL keeps that knowledge alive. It captures how your organisation works, simply and without specialist skills, and turns it into something your team can actually run. It works the same for a team of one as it does for a team of ten thousand, because good process should never depend on how big you are.
